We are proud to announce that Harborough Portas are supporting Hope Against Cancer and have joined their Business Club.
It was an easy decision for us to support Hope Against Cancer’s Business Club, as the invaluable work they help fund has a direct impact and benefits our local community.
Hope Against Cancer was founded in 2003 by Allison Wilson CBE who, having been diagnosed with cancer, was told by a consultant that local research facilities in Leicestershire and Rutland would help improve outcomes for local people with cancer.
Since then, they have been supporting research which directly benefits local people, families and communities. This knowledge is shared with the wider scientific community to help national and international efforts to overcome cancer which also increases the reputation of Leicestershire and Rutland as a centre for cutting edge research and care.
Hope Against Cancer’s mission is to fund innovative research that leads to improved treatments and better outcomes for people with cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland. They do this by working in partnership with local universities and hospitals to ensure that Leicestershire remains a centre of excellence for cancer research and treatment to achieve the greatest impact in the local and national efforts to overcome cancer.
Joining the Business Club is our way of supporting and improving the lives of individuals and families in need across the region by helping to support the world class research and clinical trials that are happening right here in Leicestershire and Rutland.
